Opera browser, in its official blog announced that the new Opera Touch for iOS is now available to download with Crypto Wallet and Ethereum Web 3 support (after a testing period), which makes Opera blockchain-powered in all mobile/desktop platform.
Opera has previously introduced Opera Touch for Android in December 2018 with built-in Crypto Wallet and Web 3.0 browsing functionalities and support for Ethereum decentralized apps. Opera has already rolled the browser with blockchain and crypto functionalities for Windows and Mac in April 2019. However, the Dev team of Opera has been working consistently to develop the latest Opera browser across all platforms including iOS.
From Opera’s blog post:
“At Opera, we believe that all modern browsers should integrate a crypto wallet, simply because this will enable new business models to emerge on the Web. Opera was the first browser to make the use of crypto on the Web seamless and easy. Following strong demand from the crypto-community, we are now making this experience available on iOS.”
As one of the most popular web browsers for smartphone and PC, Opera has more than 300 million users users worldwide and the company has been planning to provide them the most seamless experience when it comes to crypto functionality, blockchain-based browsing and decentralized applications.
The Goal: Seamless Crypto Support and Experience
Opera Touch has already won the Red Dot Design Award and Gold IF Design Award. With Opera Touch for iOS, Opera has finally reached its goal of providing crypto wallet integration and Web 3 support across Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, and Mac. In addition to that Opera is pursuing its ambitions to make Web 3 more inclusive and user-friendly by incorporating various blockchain functionalities and their respective tokens. Opera Touch also began supporting the Tron (TRX) cryptocurrency and other TRC-standard tokens within its browser.
Coming back to Opera touch for iOS, it will allow users to browse the next generation of Web 3 applications on the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum is one of the fastest growing and most advanced blockchain-based digital currencies with a dedicated community that empowers crypto users to make transactions and enables developers to create decentralized apps (dApps) with relative ease. It will allow users to interact with decentralized apps seamlessly as the new iOS browser supports the Ethereum Web3 API and that too without the help of any extension. Opera Touch for iOS currently supports all ERC-20 tokens, stablecoins and non-fungible tokens (NFT).
Apart from being Web 3.0 ready, the firm has also announced a number of other features and introduced the latest UI of the browser.
