Serena Williams’ Investment Firm Invests in Cryptocurrency Exchange Coinbase

Legendary American tennis player and winner of 23 Grand Slam singles, Serena Williams, has recently revealed that her secret investment firm Serena Ventures is to invest in thirty companies that include Coinbase, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges.

Ever since the birth of Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies have always been subjected to some wild conspiracies and proved their association with illicit activities of money laundering and buying drugs on the dark web. This might be one of the reasons that digital assets couldn’t expand at a faster pace. Additionally, the current financial regulatory structure doesn’t really support or promote crypto adoption or its use cases in daily life. However, the future is looking bright for crypto as a number of big firms, personalities and celebs have started focusing on crypto investment.

Recently, Serena Williams revealed that her investment firm is to make an investment of undisclosed amount in 30 companies. In her Instagram post, she wrote:

“In 2014, (yes I know I can keep a secret) I launched Serena Ventures with the mission of giving opportunities to founders across an array of industries. Serena Ventures invests in companies that embrace diverse leadership, individual empowerment, creativity, and opportunity.”

With this post, the professional tennis player divulged that her main concern is to focus on companies that ‘promote basic needs that keep society growing.’

Williams’ investment in a crypto firm like Coinbase clearly indicates that the adoption of digital currencies gains momentum and is fueled both by American and global wealthy celebrities who push toward crypto investment (although not always with success). Having such a high standard and figure she represents in the world of sport; this crypto investment move by Serena Venture will definitely leave a great impact not only on her followers but perhaps also on other known renowned personalities.

Coinbase is a U.S.-based crypto exchange that particularly deals with a growing number of cryptocurrencies that include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple and several more. It is a platform that allows users to buy and sell the an increasing list of supported cryptocurrencies. It stands as an intermediary and facilitates the trade, for which it charges a certain commission. Coinbase also allows users to buy Bitcoin and 32 other cryptocurrencies with fiat money.

No other companies have been revealed that Serena Ventures is going to invest in.
