The Tor Project Enables Cryptocurrency Donations

As cryptocurrency and its underlying technology, Blockchain technology, garner more traction towards the mainstream, this new era of digital currencies has proven to offer a wide range of use cases across different sectors. Ranging from the corporate world to our everyday grocery purchase, this set of virtual currencies have found its use in virtually every aspect of our lives today.

Over the years, tons of innovative ideas were created to help demystify the complex technology, making it easy for the average crypto user to perform simple transactions. Cryptocurrency prides itself as an instrument of change and it has since lived up to that name. From simple transactions such as grocery purchase from crypto-friendly retail shops to more complex applications as seen in cars, large supply chain, and in the corporate world, cryptocurrency has changed the way we transact through a faster, safer, and more convenient method.

It is no wonder, more and more organizations keep adopting this new form of virtual currency from time to time.

Now, a new organization is implementing crypto possibilities: the Tor Project now accepts donations through cryptocurrency. Being the new wave of payment, the foundation saw it was a logical idea to take advantage of the growing use of cryptocurrency in the project.

It is worthy to note that the Tor Project is a web browsing platform for human rights protection. The browser was created to help advance human rights and freedom through the deployment of free open source anonymity and privacy technologies as well as supporting their unrestricted availability and use, and promoting its adaptability across a wide spectrum of users.

As an economy with different layers, the Tor Project made it possible for donors to make donations through several cryptocurrencies. The site currently accepts donations through nine of the largest and most recognized cryptocurrencies across the globe. Donors can now make their donations through Bitcoin(BTC)trade, Litecoin (LTC)trade, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Augur (REP), Ethereum (ETH)trade, Zcash (ZEC), Monero (XRM), Dash (DASH) or Stellar Lumen (XLM).

Donors are urged to be cautious of the wallet address they make donations to as funds sent to a wrong address cannot be recovered. Be sure to copy the appropriate wallet address for each crypto coin and check the pasted address if it matches that on the site before making any donation. Also, donors are urged to fill out a form to help the foundation adjust its communication to your preference and acknowledge your donation as well.

Donors who would like to donate digital coins other than the ones listed above can contact the Tor Project at [email protected] and request a different means of donation. Note that credit cards and PayPal are still viable options to make your donations as well. Also, you can direct any questions or concerns you may have to the aforementioned contact address.
